Rachel Findlay
Head of Funder Effectiveness
rfindlay@philanthropycapital.org
Rachel specialises in providing advice to funders on effective charitable giving. She has delivered and managed consulting projects for foundations, corporates and individuals. Her work with corporates has focused on reviewing community investment programme strategies, advising on grant-making processes and identifying effective charities.
Rachel works with individuals and family foundations, advising those new to philanthropy on how to develop a focus and strategy for their funding and on the mechanics of good grant-making. Rachel also runs introductory philanthropy workshops for the next generation of philanthropists for various banks.
Rachel has also worked with charities to advise them on developing theories of change, and how to measure their impact. She has recently assessed opportunities in the sector for sharing measurement frameworks and tools amongst charities working towards similar outcomes.
Prior to joining NPC Rachel worked for a boutique management consultancy, advising multinational companies. Rachel has also worked for Plan International, where she spent 6 months in Senegal in their Global Assurance team, identifying and managing risks the charity was facing in West Africa.
