NPC's partners
NPC works with individuals, organisations and networks that share our goals of promoting charity and funder effectiveness. Our partners include:
Bertelsmann Stiftung: we have been working with the Bertelsmann foundation since 2007 to set up an organisation based on NPC’s model, achieved in May 2010 with the launch of Phineo. We also co-hosted a conference in May 2009 about building an Association of Nonprofit Analysts, and are currently taking forward this initiative with the development of the SIA Association.
Copal Partners in India: we teamed up with Copal in 2008 to carry out a year-long research project in India. Read more about this partnership.
Institute for Voluntary Action Research (IVAR): in May 2009, NPC began a new partnership with IVAR on a project to examine the impact of community anchor organisations. This project is in collaboration with the Community Alliance, comprised of bassac, Community Matters and the Development Trusts Association.
National Performance Programme: this is led by Charities Evaluation Services, in partnership with NPC, ACEVO, the New Economics Foundation and Voice4Change England, and funded by Capacitybuilders. We have been carrying out research for this programme since 2008, and have published three reports looking at communicating results, reporting to commissioners, and how funders can help grantees focus on impact.
Office for Civil Society's Measuring Social Value project: NPC is part of the consortium running the project, together with SROI UK, the New Economics Foundation, Charities Evaluation Services and the National Council of Voluntary Organisations.
PHINEO: NPC has supported Phineo, a Berlin based not-for-profit corporation that builds bridges between social investors and non-profit organisations in Germany, since its inception. We are now an official consulting partner to Phineo, and formally share lessons and experiences with each other.
The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation: we began a strategic relationship with the foundation in 2008. As well as providing us with core funding for two years, the Hewlett Foundation gives feedback on our strategy and direction, helps us develop relationships in the US, and supports us in developing new initiatives.
NPC also has a number of informal partnerships, for example to run joint events, including with the European Association of Philanthropy and Giving (EAPG), the Charity Finance Directors' Group (CFDG) and The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
NPC is represented on the advisory boards of Philanthropy UK, Family Bhive and the ImpACT Coalition.
